Head Massage

Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage originates from an Indian alternative medicine system called Ayurveda, (translated as the ‘science of life’), whereby it is believed that the mind and body are intricately connected and thus can influence one another.

* Promotes hair growth by increasing oxygen in the hair follicles which stimulates growth and health.
* Increases joint mobility and flexibility in the neck and shoulders
* Prevents tension in the upper body by releasing built-up tension in the head   and neck area
circulating blood to the neck area
* Aids better sleep by reducing stress

This treatment can benefit from using oils if you wish to nourish the skin and hair.

However, the choice to add oils is totally up to you and something we will discuss in your consultation. It is usually done while seated, therefore making this an easily accessible treatment for all; but can also be adapted to be carried out lying down on a massage table if required.

$50 per half hour

Ayurveda & Holistic Health Coaching

"When diet is wrong medicine is of no use, when diet is correct medicine is of no need” ~ Ayurvedic proverb

Ayurveda means ‘the science of life’ in Sanskrit. It is the sister science of Yoga and is a complete system of traditional medicine that dates back over 3,000 years. Ayurveda helps to reclaim health with balanced dietary guidelines, effective sleep patterns, home remedies, daily and seasonal routines, yoga, meditation and exercise.

During the Initial Consultation a thorough Ayurvedic Assessment is conducted and a treatment plan is formulated based on the assessment. The assessments involve questioning as well as physical assessment of tongue and pulse.

Individualized treatments plans normally begin with restoring balance to the digestive system with culinary herbs, proper diet, and stress relief. This is done in tandem with reducing ama (toxins and undigested foods). Other recommendations may include massage, bodywork treatments,  meditation, yoga and specific daily and seasonal ayurvedic self care practices. Time may also be spent on positive-based and empowering  health coaching to help facilitate habit changes.

Cost:

Initial Consult $120 + HST (90 min)

Follow up session $65 + HST ( 45 min)

Reiki

Reiki is made up of 2 Japanese words - Rei which means Higher Power and Ki which is Life Force Energy. If you think about life, everything is made up of energy. Our daily lives push and pull our energy in many directions - Reiki is an opportunity for you to have your energy retuned or settled. The benefits of Reiki are numerous and can include deep relaxation, stress reduction, increased energy and promotion of pain relief.
What can you expect during a session
During a session you will be lying fully clothed on a massage table. During your session you will receive both gentle touch and energy work above your body. There is music playing in the background, soft lighting and overall relaxing atmosphere. The intention is to create a space where you feel safe, relaxed, and can fully immerse yourself in your Reiki experience. Generally, there is no talking during a session, until the end where we may discuss how you’ve felt, any colours or images you may have seen and any impressions I had while completing your attuning.$80 per hour.
